Every second counts after an accident. The Lay Responder Care Training Program empowers you to take confident, life-saving action before medical help arrives.

ABOUT THE INITIATIVE

A collaborative effort by NIMHANS, India's premier institute for neuroscience and mental health, Autoliv India Pvt Ltd, a global leader in automotive safety and NIPM, India’s apex body for human resource management. Together, we’re building a safer India - one responder at a time - by giving everyday citizens the skills and confidence to step forward in road crash emergencies.

Our Mission

Ensure every crash victim receives immediate and quality pre-hospital care. Contribute to reduction in fatalities and improved survival outcome.

ABOUT THE INITIATIVE

About 1.7 lakh people die in road crashes annually in India. Last year in Karnataka there were 43,440 crashes - 12,321 deaths and 52,547 injuries. Bengaluru alone saw 2,688 crashes causing 473 deaths and 2,378 injuries.
An estimated 30–40% of deaths occur at the crash site, 10–20% during transit, and nearly 50% in hospitals or later. Yet, less than one-third of crash victims receive any form of first aid.
Most first responders are bystanders or fellow survivors. They want to help but often lack the awareness, skills, and confidence to give timely, life-saving support.
